Aurora R12, heatsink available

FYI: I just ordered N1C1D ASSY,HTSNK,VR,CPU,125W,R11. I indicated I wanted the heatsink for my Alienware Aurora R12 part number is N1C1D. Cost is $11.99 plus tax. Expected delivery is December 6th. A lot less than other places. I believe the R11 and R12 are the same.

Ok so I ordered a gaming desktop PC R12 on black Friday last week.  After purchasing it I decided to research a little more about my pc I bought because I was so excited to get it. Then I became concerned a little about my PC because i was seeing alot of complaints on overheating issues on this R12 all over the dell community chat website. I then saw a new latest post right here regarding a heat sink module upgrade on the R12 that has come available due to this overheating issue. The heat sink part #N1C1D was given online by dell representive.  So since my R12 PC had not been shipped yet I quickly called and talked to Sales department to modify my order and add this heat sink module which I was told my Sales department that it was a $11.99 upgrade.  They said I could buy it and would ship it to me. I was like I am not a pc technician I dont know how to install it I would like to pay for it and have you install it since it has not been shipped. They said well modification department needs to do this. I was then transferred to that department. The modification department said well we cant help you because we dont see that part# to add to your order and need to talk to sales department. I was like I already talked to them and they said only the mofification department can do this. I was put on hold to be transferred to sales department and they just disconnected the call and hung up on me. I called back and did this 2 times which each department would not take care of it but would put me on hold and then hang up the call. Finally the sales department said well let me see if customer service can help you. I talked to customer service and they said all I can do is cancel the order. I said I dont want to cancel the order I want to save you and me time buy PAYING you extra money for a known defect on this R12 gaming pc of having overheating issues to install this new upgraded heatsink module on my R12 before you ship it. I said I would gladly pay for upgrade. The sales department said well only option I have left is maybe the technician department can help you so I was transferred there. I talked to techician department who acknowledge he has heard about this issue but stated he cannot modify or fix any order until my PC will arrive at my house and then he can send a technician to fix it if and when it will overheat. So finally after spending several hours on the phone and being rudely disconnected on several times I think this might be resolved but will have to wait until I receive my pc. Again maybe it doesnt overheat and maybe this new modification on heatsink module has already been install on all new R12 Since this has been known issue. We will only have to wait and find out when it arrives. Either way I am glad that I will at least be taken care of if this is a issue but I am very annoyed that I had horrible customer service on this and wasted a half a day dealing with this. I spend $2000 on a high end gaming pc and want to simply feel safe that my pc will not have issues.

If you ordered a r12 system with liquid cooling, the heatsink is included.  If you ordered a system that has a low-profile smart cooling CPU heatsink, then you don't need this particular heatsink.  If you have the later and want to upgrade to a liquid cooling system, then you'll need to purchase the N1C1D ASSY,HTSNK,VR,CPU,125W,R11.  Hope this helps.

Ok so here is my gaming system i bought ALIENWARE AURORA R12. I did buy the liquid cooled 550 watt high performance power supply !  So thats great news. Now the question is should I have bought the 1000 watt liquid cooled instead lol ?  According to Tom hardware  for what is required to run a 3060 ti GPU or higher they are saying you should run minimum 650 watt power supply. I called Dell to upgrade to 1000 watt just to be safe but it was too late because its already in preproduction. I will just have to wait and find out when I get it.
